Delivery of new fire fighting vehicles to the polar branch of «Nornickel»

Fire Safety Department of the polar  branch of «Nornickel» has renewed its machinery park for extinguishing fires and rescue of people.

The supplier of the equipment is “Prioritet” company.

Three units of fire fighting vehicles- two fire-extinguishing tanker and fire fighting vehicle with the ladder – arrived in Norilsk in the second quarter of 2020. The vehicles were delivered along the Northern Sea Route. The fire fighting crews underwent training under the guidance of technical specialists from the Prioritet company.

Tank trucks are made on the chassis “Ural”. Trucks are capable to deliver fire-fighting crew, fire and rescue equipment, 6000 l of water supply and foaming agent to the place of fire. The main advantage of the new trucks is the modern fire fighting equipment, power-driven hand tools. The fire pump installed in the vehicle with the capacity 70 l / s has priming system Vacumat, as well as a more durable case. For comparison: pumps with a capacity of 40 l / s are mounted on old trucks. The compartments with fire-fighting equipment are equipped with heating elements, that is very important for operation at negative temperatures.

This fire fighting vehicle with the ladder is one of the unique purchase: the lifting height of its boom is 52 m. Prior to that, Norilsk firefighters used ladders with a maximum boom reach of 30 and 50 m.

The unicity of the ladder in that it has a folding lift for faster and safer delivery of firefighters to the height, as well as for evacuation of people from the upper floors. The ladder is equipped with a folding platform for easy access to the building.  A fire monitor is also mounted there for extinguishing fire at a height. It is equipped with remote control drives and a video camera for visual control.
